Here’s a handy guide to other relevant Georgian Bay organizations

Georgian Bay Association (GBA): The advocacy arm of the first four organizations on this list, the GBA is a federation of 21 cottager associations (the BNIA included) and 4,400 families on the eastern and northern shores of Georgian Bay. website

Georgian Bay Forever (GBF): a charity dedicated to scientific research and public education on Georgian Bay’s aquatic ecosystem. website

Georgian Bay Land Trust (GBLT): A land trust set up in 1991 to protect wilderness lands and species along the eastern shore of Georgian Bay and the North Channel and its near watershed, through strategic conservation planning, land securement, stewardship, research, and education. website

Georgian Bay Biosphere (GBB): The Georgian Bay Biosphere is a UNESCO biosphere reserve.  A non-profit registered Canadian charity, the GBB is a community-based organization that works with partners in our region to protect the environment, create vibrant communities and support a healthy economy by building capacity through education and culture. website

Township of the Archipelago (ToA): our municipal government body. website

Pointe au Baril Islanders’ Association (PaBIA): Our nearest neighbouring cottager’s association, to the immediate south of Nares Inlet. website

Key River Association: Another neighbouring cottager’s association neighbour, approx. 20 kilometres to the north of Bayfield Inlet. website
